  • "What’s the difference between therapeutic and deep tissue massage?”
Deep tissue generally focuses on manipulating the muscles using the therapist’s (not limited to) knuckles, forearms, and elbows to relieve tight, overstimulated, sore, achy, tired muscles. Therapeutics can range from a light touch to work different branches of the nervous and circulatory systems to a firm touch to engage the muscles.
  • “What does a healthy relationship with Massage look like?”
The lifestyle of Massage varies depending on the individual. It generally improves sleep and circulation, calms anxiety, and can reduce chronic pain/fatigue, amongst other things.
  • “What are the mental benefits of Massage?”
Lower stress levels Improved relaxation Improved mood Decreased anxiety More energy Increase the feeling of wellness
  • “What are the physical benefits of Massage?”
Improved circulation Decreased muscle stiffness Decreased joint inflammation Better quality of sleep Quicker recovery between workouts Improved flexibility Less pain and soreness Strengthened immune response
  • “Why am I sore after a deep tissue?”
Deep tissue is NOT for everyone; sometimes, you don’t know it’s not for you until you try it. There are many reasons why you might be sore after a massage: lack of water intake, the flushing of lactic acid, lack of oxygen (blood circulation), and muscles being overstimulated. When receiving a deep tissue, it is VERY important that you communicate with your therapist while in the session; for ANY massage or stretch, you never want to go past your pain thrush hold; on a pain scale of 1-10, NEVER let it go past a 7. Just because you can take it doesn’t mean you should.
  • “Does cupping hurt?”
Cupping should not hurt, Nor should the markings afterward.
  • “I just received cupping and have bruises; why?”
Cupping is a suction that stimulates the circulatory (blood) system while engaging the muscles, bringing fresh blood in, and flushing out old blood and toxins. It should not hurt to the touch.
  • "What is Reflexology?"
Reflexology uses compression techniques to contact the reflexes in the foot, which communicate with the entire body; every organ, gland, and body part can be touched through the foot. This technique can help improve the function of organs, glands, and ALL systems of the body. Total body relaxation balances all internal and external systems, improving circulation via stimulation to the nervous system.
  • "Does Reflexology hurt?"
No, it should not hurt. Sometimes, tender spots on the foot relate to the corresponding reflexes.
